Job Description

A busy medical malpractice defense team is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide high-level litigation and administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, tech-savvy, and confident handling a fast-paced defense caseload.

Responsibilities include preparing and filing pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence; managing attorney calendars and deadlines; organizing medical records; communicating with clients, experts, and court personnel; coordinating state and federal e-filings; assisting with billing; and maintaining accurate case files. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a litigation legal secretary
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical record workflows
  • Proficiency with state and federal e-filings
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong technical proficiency with MS Office, document management systems, and billing software
  • Stable work history
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys
  • Background in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or healthcare litigation
